As a Church of England school, we believe that Religious Education both supports and strengthens what we aim to do in every aspect of school life.
Our Principles of RE Teaching
We know that great Religious Education happens in our school when...
Christian Value – Service (Summer 2)
The notion of service calls us to lay
selfish things aside for the needs of others. It is also an important value in all relationships.
Jesus was called the 'servant king': we are learning
that his mission was to serve God and to serve all
those people he met, through his teaching, his example and the way he led his life.
We are finding out about unsung heroes who serve
us at school, at home and in our local community. We are also thinking about the ways in which
we can serve others in these places too.
When a child or member of staff displays our Christian value, this will be celebrated and displayed on our Christian values tree as part of our whole school prayer space.
"There is more happiness in giving than in receiving"
Collective Worship Council
The Christian value is promoted throughout the school and explored in our weekly virtual Collective Worships. The children in the Collective Worship Council are planning, delivering and evaluating many of our Collective Worships and are keen to promote 'service' among their peers.
To develop the learners of tomorrow and equip them with the skills to flourish and succeed for "nothing is impossible with God"
