My name is Miss Beaven and I have been part of the team at Acton for over three years now. I am thoroughly enjoying working with your children in Year 2. I feel privileged to be part of their learning journey. It is clear to see the children are growing in confidence and resilience as they approach the end of KS1.
Spring 2/Summer 1
Our topic is 'How does your garden grow?' We will become green fingered experts; improving our school garden and growing our own plants and vegetables to sell.
Help and resources needed!
We need willing volunteers to help come and prepare Andrew's Garden ready for planting new plants and seeds.
Any donations of soil/compost, seeds/bulbs, pots, watering cans etc.
Any help or donations would be much appreciated! Please see Miss Beaven if you think you can help.
Alongside the spellings you get weekly and TT Rock-stars, you may want to get stuck into some extra homework related to our topic. Choose one of the of the following to research. Remember you can present your work in any way that you like. Bring it into school to share with the class.
1. A poster for the life cycle of a plant.
2. Do you grow your own fruit and vegetables at home?
3. Create your own plants fact file.
4. Design and build your own mini greenhouse.

I will be adding a home learning folder each week with a suggested timetable and activities to complete.
If you would like to keep in contact please feel free to email our new class email. It would be great to see/hear what you've been up to. You can send work, projects, pictures, videos or questions to firstname.lastname@example.org
I look forward to hearing from you and I hope this helps keep some close communication during these uncertain times.
We highly recommend using this home learning resource from White Rose to help teach your child maths at home to suit their specific year group. There are five daily lessons for each week and they provide audio teaching and related worksheets free to download for your child to complete. They suggest to spend between 20-30 minutes on each daily session.
